Job Details
The Medical Director will be supporting a growing client base while combining their clinical expertise with payment policy. The MD is a key member of the Research team, as well as the client team and represents the team on all Medical Policy decisions.

Job Responsibilities
Provides oversight for the accuracy and quality of research materials originated from Medical Policy and Client Services
Manages the scheduled review process for global and specialty policies
Manages the integrity of the Payment Policy Library.
Ensures the Payment Policy Library is accurate and up-to-date
Assign Rules to Policy
Manages quarterly and annual updates.
Ensure changes are accurate, complete and are finished in a timely manner including documentation of notable changes
Manages expert panel
Ensures we have the right specialty representation at all times
Educate client service MDs and MDAs on new changes and policy updates by holding effective monthly meetings for client facing MDs and MDAs.
Support other departments and client teams within iHT.

Relevant Experience & Educational Requirements
Must be an MD with 5 years experience with a health plan or CMS, as well as experience within a payer organization
Experience in private sector/ Health plan operations as a Medical Director, with focus on reimbursement, medical coding (CPT, ICD-9).
Consulting experience within a healthcare coding and reimbursement company is a definite plus.

Job Demands
Very rare requirement to travel.
Ability to work seated at a computer for long periods of time.
After hours and/or weekend work required where necessary for major deliverables/deadlines (not consistent).
