Rapidly expanding Medicare HMO in Tampa, Florida is searching for a Senior Medical Director.                      

Job Summary
The Medical Director has primary responsibility for establishing and maintaining the health plan's medical policies, and for the development, management, and oversight of the utilization, case and disease management programs. The Medical Director will also lead the staff and programs in these areas.  The Medical Director holds primary responsibility for achieving medical goals. The Medical Director functions as senior physician administrator of the health plan; oversees the clinical functions of the health plan and provides contemporary and innovative medical leadership. The Medical Director will provide guidance as well as support to all departments and physicians involved with the health plan.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must be a licensed physician in the State of Florida and remain abreast of innovations and developments within the fields of medicine and managed health care, and of related government regulations.  Possess ability to interact with physicians, hospital administrators and health plan leaders.  Able to demonstrate successful experience in peer review and physician performance evaluations.

Education
Licensed physician in the State of Florida and possess a MD Degree from an accredited university. Prior managed care experienced or an advanced degree in management preferred.  Five years experience in medical leadership in an integrated primary care clinic setting.
